Staff and Roles
Staff Overview
FSCharter V2 provides companies with the flexibility to hire staff according to their needs. While this approach is similar to V1, the key enhancement is that staff members now receive specific roles, ensuring that not every staff member has the same responsibilities. To access the Staff menu, simply click the link in the left sidebar located underneath the company. The Active Staff page will appear.
Hiring and Firing Staff
To hire staff, please click the white button on the right side of the Active Staff page. Then, select a user and click on Hire Staff. You can select multiple users at once. The user needs to accept the offer inside FSCharter for them to appear in your staff list.
To dismiss staff, click the ... on the right-hand side of the user and then click Fire.
Assigning Roles to Staff
Creating, deleting, and editing roles are discussed in more detail below. To assign one or more roles to a staff member, click the ... on the right-hand side of the user, then select Roles and choose the role you wish to assign. You can assign multiple roles to a staff member, but each role must be added or removed individually by repeating the steps outlined above.
Your Staff Offers
If another company offers you a staff position, you will be notified by FSMail. To accept or reject the offer, please navigate to the staff screen and change the tab from Active Staff to Pending Invitations. From this screen, you can easily accept or reject the offer.
Roles Overview
To access the Roles menu, simply click the link in the left sidebar located underneath the company.
Creating Roles
To create a role, click the white Shield symbol located on the right side of the Roles page. At any point during the role creation process, you have the option to delete the role and cancel your progress by pressing the red Bin icon on the right side of the page.
Role Overview
The Role Overview page is the section where you can set the name, description, icon image, and icon colour.
Role Privileges
There are privileges available for every possible action in a company in FSCharter. Each action is grouped to facilitate visualization, and the privileges can be toggled on or off as needed for the role.
Privilege Warning
Be mindful when granting privileges, as some options enable assigned staff to have control similar to that of the owner. It is advisable to exercise caution.
Role Notifications
The notifications section provides control over when staff members in the role are notified about company actions. Each notification can be toggled on or off, similar to the Role Privileges.
Role Members
This section of the process will display an error message in the lower left corner of the screen if you are creating a new role, as there are currently no members with that role.
If you are editing or viewing an existing role, this screen will display all staff members who hold that role.
Editing Roles
To edit a role, simply follow the same steps as for creating one. However, instead of pressing the button to create a new role, click on an existing one. From there, you can access the Overview, Privileges, Notifications, and Members screens.
Deleting Roles
To delete a role, simply click on the role in the Roles screen and then press the red Bin icon located on the right side of the screen.
