Troubleshooting

This page lists common issues and fixes for both the X-Plane plugin and the SimConnect plugin (MSFS / P3D).

X-Plane

“The specified module could not be found.” (Windows)

If FSCharter does not appear in the Plugins menu and Log.txt contains the following line then please install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from here.

Code = 126 : The specified module could not be found.

X-Plane Crash-to-Desktop When Starting a Job

A rare X-Plane 11.55 bug can cause a crash when teleporting to certain airports.
If your Log.txt ends with a line similar to below then you can load directly at the target airport via the X-Plane main menu, then click Begin Job.

Enable Debug logging in Settings to capture additional diagnostic data.

FSCharter DEBUG ... PlaceAtAirport: Placing user at airport WAYY --=={This application has crashed because of the plugin: FSCharter}==--

MSFS / P3D

MSFS Starts Inside a Building When Beginning a Job

The aircraft’s spawn position may coincide with scenery. Two approaches can resolve this:

  1. Temporarily disable automatic positioning:

    • Turn off Location in Plane-specific options.

    • Click Start over..., then taxi manually to the indicated position and board.

    • Re-enable Location afterwards if desired.

  2. Disable MSFS Crash Damage:

    • Go to Assistance Options > Failure and Damage > Crash Damage = Disabled.

    • Click Start over..., then Begin Job.

    • Use Slew mode to move clear of the building (do not move too far) and board.

P3D: Pause on Task Switch

Disable Options > General... > Application > Pause on task switch to prevent the simulator pausing when the plugin window is active.

Client Freezes (Overlay Capture)

GPU overlay or capture tools (for example, Nvidia GeForce Experience) can interfere with timely event handling, causing delayed take-off detection.
Try disabling screen-capture overlays during FSCharter flights.

“Crash Damage is off” Message

This is only a gentle reminder; FSCharter does not enforce crash-damage settings.
Enable Assistance Options > Failure and Damage > Crash Damage if you prefer stricter realism.

Payload and Fuel

Missing Payload Values (MSFS)

In MSFS, payload adjustments applied by FSCharter affect aircraft weight but may not appear in the in-sim Fuel / Payload dialogue.
This is a simulator-side limitation.

Payload Balancing Issues (MSFS & P3D)

Payload is distributed heuristically across stations (seats, cabins, cargo) without awareness of per-station maximums. If the aircraft tips or centre-of-gravity is unsafe:

  1. Disable automatic Payload in Plane-specific options.

  2. Redistribute payload manually using your aircraft’s tools.

See Job: Boarding and the FAQs for more details.

Windows Message Window Position (SimConnect Plugin)

The message popup may appear in the top-left corner of the screen.
You can drag it while visible or adjust its position under Settings.
