Maintenance and Wear

Just like in real life, FSCharter aircraft require maintenance to be allowed to fly and be classed as airworthy.

Aircraft Maintenance

Maintenance Cost

Aircraft checks are currently free; however, they do require access to a service centre, which may charge you at the point of use.

The four checks required on aircraft are shown below:

Check Type

Interval

Facility Required

Cost

Time to Complete

A

50

-

Free

0.1 minutes per m² footprint

B

100

-

Free

0.2 minutes per m² footprint

C

300

Service Centre

Free

0.6 minutes per m² footprint

D

1000

Service Centre

Free

1 minute per m² footprint

Premium users can set A and B checks to be performed automatically within the Aircraft dialog box. To do this, navigate to the Operations Cockpit and select the Aircraft lens. Choose the aircraft from the dock, and the Aircraft dialog box will open. Click the tab titled Service and Maintenance to view the maintenance check details.

To enable auto checks for A & B checks you can toggle the Auto option for both or either of these. This will then ensure that when you hit a service interval the check is performed straight away. You can also perform the checks early by pressing the Start button next to either check.

To perform a C or D check you must use a Service Centre. These checks can also be performed early if you wish.

Note

  • B checks will reset the A and B check triggers (ie: both checks performed at once)

  • C checks will reset the A, B and C check triggers (ie: three checks performed at once)

  • D checks will reset all check triggers (ie: all checks performed at once)

Aircraft Wear

Maintenance wear refers to the deterioration that occurs to smaller aircraft (SEP, MEP, BIZ, HEL) while they are on the ground. It is calculated based on the time the company clock is active and the location of the aircraft. If the aircraft is not protected by a hangar, a small amount of wear accrues even if it is not flying. However, if the aircraft is in a hangar, wear is eliminated. This system ensures that maintenance wear is only counted during active periods, keeping it fair and accurate.
